Our mission is to instill a passion for the wonder and serenity of nature and self, nurturing inner strength that fuels a spirited zest for learning throughout each student's educational journey.

Philosophy

As a teacher, my role is to gently guide children on their journey to becoming the best humans they can be. To encourage independence, empathy and a strong desire to absorb all the beautiful knowledge and experiences that surround them. To me, being a teacher means opening up a child's world and instilling a love of learning, exploring and creating. We use a hands-on approach in the natural world because participating in the learning process, rather than trying to imagine how it is done, is so much more beneficial.

The children are honored and supported for who they are and where they are. Green Sprouts is an opportunity for them to:

build resistance through healthy risk taking where they are able to learn through both successes and failures.
discover themselves while helping choose their daily educational path. Through exploration they grow more independant and body aware.
learn from shared experiences with their peers. Deep friendships are formed while grasping productive communication skills and practicing conflict resolutions.

Curriculum

Each child's learning experience is unique. Permitting choice allows a deeper engagement in learning

Green Sprouts curriculum is designed to empower self-directed exploration and discovery in an age-appropriate fashion. We create open-ended themes that flow with the interests and ideas of the children. Through questions asked by the teacher, the children are able to self-reflect and learn to be strong problem solvers. We practice flexible learning and go where our hearts guide us.

Green Sprouts is honored to be a part of the trek to kindergarten learning. Being able to aid in the development of early math and literacy skills is a privilege. Through songs, games and play, as well as cultivating natural interests, we work towards building a strong foundation for the children to grow on.
